We’re way past the point of complaining about modern technology. Everyone lives off their phones and that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. The idea of an app consuming our lives is an unsettling thought. But there are a few apps that if used with care, can really make life more fun and easy

It’s no surprise I’m obsessed with Instagram. I remember discovering the filters and thinking it was the best thing to ever happen to my selfies. Some of us are Instagram stalkers as opposed to active users and that’s completely fine.

After launching JossBecause there was a sudden urgency to spread my content and market myself. This app has been my best friend throughout my blogging journey. Anyone who has a blog will tell you how Instagram goes hand in hand with their brand. It’s a terrific way to network with other creative minds and cross promote!

Remember what I said about those filters? A few years ago I ended things with Valencia and started a fling with Vsco, we’ve been in a committed relationship ever since. I use this app to edit ALL of my Instagram photos. The great thing about it is not only are there set filters, but if you’re like me and enjoy messing around with everything they have that option too.

Don’t think filters is necessary? Your imagery on social media is so important if you’re building a brand. Consistency in photos is something you should always pay attention to. Vsco allows you to maintain your “grid” so all your photos follow the same aesthetic.

If you drive in LA (and if you’re in the city, I know you do), I swear by this app. I trust Waze with my life. With Waze, you’re guaranteed the fastest route to your desired location. You can punch in what time you need to get to a meeting the next morning and Waze will inform you what time you need to leave. Its timing is so precise, I haven’t been a minute late. It’s also community-based so you’re constantly updated with potential road hazards and routes to avoid sitting in traffic.

Mobile Banking App

There are times where I want to keep my bank balance a mystery and let the cashier tell me what’s up, but I’m getting more responsible!

Having a mobile banking app on your phone is a must. Easy access to funds, deposit checks and transfer money on the go? Yes please.

Tiny Scanner

I just discovered this one, and I am so happy I did! It’s a scanner right on your phone. If you’re like me and have to go to FedEx Office to do all of your business work then this app is for you. Take a photo of your document and the app converts it to a PDF. There is also Tiny Fax, same idea but works as a fax machine!

If you haven’t downloaded Uber yet then you’re missing out. I don’t care if you have a car, Uber should still be on your phone. It’s the easiest and cheapest way to travel, it’s so simple and you don’t have to worry about not having cash.

If you’re hesitant about safety, it’s much safer than cabs. With Uber you can see a photo of who’s picking you up and their license plate number. You can send all this information to anyone on your phone and even have them follow you on your trip.

Now you and your friends don’t have to assign a DD, call that Uber!

What are you favorite apps? I would love to test them out!

I love all of these apps! Especially VSCO and my banking apps. I also couldn’t live without Venmo, it makes sharing meals and paying rent so much easier. And while it took me a while to make the transition to Spotify, I wouldn’t give it up for anything. Love this, great article!

Transit App is my everything! Especially when my boyfriend has the car. When Im not sure which buses to take to get where I need to go for a specific time, or check on bus times to get to work I turn to transit app. I’m always on the go so this app is my go to app.
